I watched this nice little DVD over the weekend, a film by Lewis Gilbert starring Julie Walters, John Hannah and Tom Wilkinson.   It was about three sisters coming together with their menfolk (where applicable) to attend their mother's funeral.   One of the daughters keeps seeing visions of her mother (Patricia Hodge) in a beautiful green Fifties frock, including at her own graveside, where she speaks these words about forgiveness.

I thought the film was a bit slow actually, but it was worth sitting through to be reminded of this:

One way for you to help is to attend a workshop.  Looking at how women can be more effective on the planet.  Yep, just one day.  Hey, that may be all it takes! 

We now know that we are at least equal to men, but we have learned to play the game on male terms and with male competitiveness. What if we could love the differences between men and women and as a result work in harmony rather against one another?

Juice, Glorious Juice

The Three Wise Women are Juice Fanatics, I think that's fair to say.   Our Health, Wealth & Happiness programmes have introduced the conscripts, sorry delegates to the joys of juicing and we are fans of Jason Vale.

I expect many of you are already Turbo Charing Your Life, either with or without Jason's book and juicer, but just in case you are not, let me remind you what a great way it is to get healthy vitamins and other good stuff straight into your bod without the bother of cooking them!

My recipe of the day: Apple, Celery, Spinach and Ginger.   Yum.   All green, makes you feel like Popeye.   And it really is true, the better stuff you put in your body the better you feel.   Yes, I know we all KNOW this.   But do we do it?   No, thought not.   Shame on you, and it's January too.   A couple of weeks on the juice and you won't know yourself - you will feel vital instead of sluggish, up for stuff which normally seems like too much trouble and going like the Duracell Bunny!

Two Healthy Secrets - Our Experiment

A friend managed to convince me over the weekend that her two top secret weapons in her fitness armoury were:

1. Walking for 40 minutes a day, and
2. Drinking 2 litres of water a day

So I managed to persuade Wise Marion on Monday that we should experiment with the same.

A while back I went to an evening talk at Alternatives to see my own coach, Michael Neill, talk about his new book You Can Have What You Want and during the course of the evening he reminded us about something he had already alerted me to, Spiritual Self Care.

Going for a Walk

I've been for a walk this morning!   I don't generally like walking, its too slow for me, I'm a driver with plenty of acceleration to boot.   However, today was a lovely day, the first day its been warm enough on whim to decide to walk to my errands instead of drive as I generally do.   And my knees were up to it, and its been a few months since I could say that, so I thought I would try out my new knees and see what happened.

Knees Update

My knees are much better, due to Wise Jane's aromatherapy ministrations and those of Cyprian, the Peckham Torturer (osteopath), getting plenty of rest, not swimming or dancing, sadly, and doing less.

I was reminded yesterday that pain in different parts of your body contains a message which can be decoded by Louise Hay, so I went straight to her book You Can Heal Your Life.

God's Garden

I know Wise Jane likes gardening, so this story is for her and all the gardeners out there in the virtual world.

International Women's Day

What, if anything does International Women's Day mean to you?  I must admit when I was asked this question I was slightly baffled.  My first answer was 'not much'.
