'Soul Warmth' - you read about it here first. This is the first blog of the New Year on the new term for what the Three Wise Women is all about. What gives you 'Soul Warmth'? You don't know, you haven't a clue what I am talking about, ' is it like soul food'? Relax and take a deep breath and sit down.
Think of 'The Sound of Music', and the song that Maria sings 'These are a few of my favourite things'. Those things, the 'brown paper packages tied up with string, the whiskers on the kittens' helped make up her Soul Warmth.
Soul Warmth can be made up of tangible things - such as on a cold winter's day drinking a glass of red wine in front of a log fire and eating a delicious meal (cooked by someone else). You may be in the company of someone special, a group of friends or and this is an important factor you could be on your own. But you feel that special glow of happiness, something you can hang onto when things become dull, or even down right unhappy.
Soul Warmth can also be something 'different' just the way your heart lifts suddenly, for a brief moment and you realise there is a point to life. You might be in a dreary town somewhere when your ears catch the faintest sound of a blackbird singing. Telling you that Spring will come, you look up and realise that the sky isn't as dark as it was the same time the previous evening. The days are lenghtening, the bird is right spring is coming to the earth as well as our hearts.
Why not today, make a list of favourite things and find out what it is that warms your Soul?
