I've been for a walk this morning! I don't generally like walking, its too slow for me, I'm a driver with plenty of acceleration to boot. However, today was a lovely day, the first day its been warm enough on whim to decide to walk to my errands instead of drive as I generally do. And my knees were up to it, and its been a few months since I could say that, so I thought I would try out my new knees and see what happened.
I walked along the Thames to my nearest Starbucks, posting letters and collecting essentials along the way. It was cold in the shade. But I saw a dead dog in The Thames (not nice) and several people smiled at me, or nodded and said Good Morning, which is always nice.
Three quarters of an hour round-trip, so it only cost me an extra half hour.
Was it worth it? Yes, I think so. We all know how good for us fresh air is, and it was certainly blowy today. I returned with mad hair and pink cheeks but an enhanced sense of wellbeing, which is the point really, isn't it?
Looking forward to more spring walks, and making time for them.
